Home Energy Efficiency Scheme

The Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (HEES) is a Welsh Assembly Government funded initiative aimed at making homes in Wales warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. The HEES grant provides a package of heating and insulation improvements up to the value of £3,600 (or £5,000 where oil central heating is required).

HEES has made a real difference to the lives of more than 108,000 people by providing heating and insulation improvements to their homes. To find out if you are able to claim a HEES grant, please go to 'How do I qualify?'

Welsh Boiler Scrappage Scheme

A new Boiler Scrappage Scheme has been announced for Wales which will benefit the over 60s.

Environment, sustainability and housing minister Jane Davidson said that the scheme will come into force on April 1st 2010, with £2.5m allocated to the scheme allowing up to 5,000 homes to benefit.

The scheme will reward households with a £500 voucher towards the cost of a new A-rated boiler when they replace their old G-Rated one. The switch can also save households up to £235 a year in energy costs as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
